Terms and Conditions
The terms governing access to our website and the purchase and use of UniPOS software, POS systems and custom development services.
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of theunipos.org, and the purchase and use of UniPOS software products, POS systems, custom development services and related offerings.
By accessing this website or purchasing from us, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

- "UniPOS", "we", "us" means UniPOS, a business software provider based in Sri Lanka and part of the DotcomOne Group of Companies.
- "Services" means our software products, POS systems, custom development work, support and any related services.
- "Customer", "you" means the individual or business purchasing or using the Services.
- "Agreement" means these terms together with any quotation, order confirmation or statement of work we issue.
Use of this website
- You may use this website for lawful business purposes only.
- You must provide accurate and current information when you contact us, register or place an order.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must not attempt to disrupt, probe, scrape at scale or gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.
Licence and permitted use
When you purchase a UniPOS licence, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the software for your own internal business operations for the period stated in your plan.
- Licences are granted per user unless your quotation states otherwise.
- A lifetime licence applies to the product version purchased and includes the maintenance described in your plan.
- You may not resell, sublicense, rent, lease or provide the software as a service to third parties without our written permission.
Restrictions
You must not:
- Copy, modify, translate, reverse-engineer or decompile the software, except as permitted by law.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark or licence notices.
- Use the Services to store or transmit unlawful, infringing or malicious content.
- Circumvent licence controls, usage limits or access restrictions.
- Use the Services in a way that interferes with other customers or the integrity of our platform.
Plans, pricing and payment
- Current plans are Starter (free), Basic (Rs. 8,000 one-time, per user) and Enterprise (custom pricing).
- Prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees and may change without notice. The price confirmed in your quotation or invoice applies to your purchase.
- Applicable taxes are added where required by law.
- Payments are processed by secure third-party payment providers. We do not store full card details.
- Where a plan is recurring, you authorise us to charge the agreed amount each billing period until you cancel.
- We may suspend access for unpaid invoices after reasonable notice.
Delivery and activation
Licences are delivered electronically, normally within one business day of payment confirmation. Activation may require installation assistance, which is scheduled with our team. Delivery timelines for hardware or third-party items depend on the supplier.
Free plan
The Starter plan is provided free of charge and includes the features listed on our pricing page. It is offered as-is, may be changed or discontinued, and is subject to the same acceptable-use restrictions as paid plans.
Custom development services
- Custom work is defined by a written scope or statement of work agreed before development begins.
- Changes to scope are handled through a written change request, which may affect cost and timeline.
- You agree to provide timely feedback, approvals, access and information reasonably required to deliver the work.
- Unless your agreement says otherwise, intellectual property in bespoke deliverables transfers to you on full payment.
- We retain ownership of our pre-existing tools, frameworks and know-how, and may reuse general techniques and non-confidential knowledge.
Support and maintenance
Support is provided by email as stated in your plan. We aim to respond within one business day. Support covers installation guidance, configuration questions and defect resolution in the software; it does not include custom development, hardware repair or issues caused by third-party systems.
Third-party services and integrations
The Services may connect with third-party products such as payment gateways, accounting tools or messaging platforms. Those products are governed by their own terms and availability. We are not responsible for third-party outages, changes or charges.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, graphics, logos, layouts and code — and all rights in the UniPOS software belong to UniPOS or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent. "UniPOS" and related marks may not be used without permission.
Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential any non-public information received from the other in connection with the Services and use it only for the purposes of the Agreement. This does not apply to information that is public, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law.
Data protection
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any customer data you enter into the software, and for complying with applicable data-protection law in your own business.
Warranties and disclaimers
We will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care. Except as expressly stated, the Services are provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of critical data.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniPOS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data. Our total aggregate liability arising from or related to the Agreement is limited to the amount you paid to UniPOS for the Services in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify UniPOS against claims, losses and costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your content or data, or your breach of these terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, or use the Services unlawfully. You may stop using the Services at any time. On termination, your right to use the software ends, and we will retain your data for the period described in our Privacy Policy unless you request deletion.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The revised version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date and applies from that date. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. The courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you.
